A Very Fun Weekend

I went back to work last week.  Boo.  I missed Avery hard core after getting to be with her all summer.  Luckily I got a three day weekend cause of labor day.  We definitely made the best of it and had lots of mommy/daughter time.  I loved every minute of it.

First stop:  Roaring Camp

 On the train with mama
She loved all the noise and steam that came from the train

Later that evening we had the Campbell family over for dinner.
 Playing bubbles with auntie Kim
 Sweet baby Olivia
I tried real hard to get a good picture of them together but it did not happen.

Sunday Avery had daddy/daughter time.  Josh took her to bouncy land. He is not so good with documentation. Haha

Today Avery and I spent the first half of the day at Happy Hollow park and zoo.  Came home for nap and when she woke up it was water park time.  I figure we better get all the water play in we can before the weather turns.
 Silly girl

We ended the perfect weekend with some silly pictures. I love that she is starting to actually smile/pose for the camera.

Cousin Fun

Last weekend Grammy and Papa were watching the newest addition to the family MaryAnn.  Avery and I went over to help/cuddle her up..  She sure is a cute squishy little thing.

She looks bigger than Avery in this picture!

Love you MaryAnn.

Drummer Girl

Someone loves playing the drums.
I just thought these few pictures were so cute.

SIDE NOTE:  Avery has discovered the ipad.  She is currently obsessed with watching Curious George on it.  The first thing she says to me when I get her up in the morning is "watch George in ipad".  So cute.

Train Town

A few weeks ago Grammy, Avery and I headed up to Napa to spend some time with GG.  We had been wanting to take Avery to this little place called Train Town.  Located in Sonoma, its this little cute family operated place with a train and a few carnival rides. The train ride lasted about 20 minutes with one stop to feed the goats and play in a cute miniature town.  Avery is in love with trains right now so it was perfect.

 Just being cute
 Feeding the goats
 Riding the carousel
Showing off her new train hat that GG bought her

She was a natural when she got up on this horse.  For a coin operated ride it went really fast.
We also went on the ferris wheel together and she loved it.  I on the other hand was freaked out the whole time. Such a chicken.

Thanks GG for having us up and showing us around.

Surgery

As summer was coming to an end I was so excited for my last week off.  It did not go the way I planned.  On Monday, August 20th Avery and I went over to my friends house for dinner.  We played and enjoyed a delicious dinner of chili and cornbread.  No big deal.  Went home and put Avery to bed.  At 1:30 A.M. I was woken up by a pretty bad side ache.  Something I have gotten from time to time for years.  Took some aspirin and was trying to get comfy.  It was not getting any better and then out of no where the pain shot into my back.  I seriously felt like my back was set of fire.  The pain was so bad I then started vomiting.  Clearly, something was not right.  I decided to drive myself to the ER around 3:30 A.M  As soon as I got there the triage nurse was certain that I was experiencing kidney stones.  Great!!! Got all checked in and was immediately given an IV with some great pain medication.  As soon as I was feeling a little better, I was given an ultrasound.  To every ones surprise I was diagnosed with gallstones and was soon admitted and began waiting to have surgery to have my gallbladder removed.  I was so happy it was not kidney stones. After about 10 hours of waiting I finally had surgery and everything went great.  Spend one night in the hospital and recovered pretty fast.  Surgeon said my gallbladder was FULL of stones and I probably had them for years.  She also said my side ache was related to the problem.  Who knew??

This was my first experience with trying to take care of a toddler and not being 100 percent myself.  It was very hard and Avery did not know what was going on.  For about three days she was walking around saying "mama boo boo all better".  She is so precious.  Josh was a great help and took on baby duty.  Great way to spend the last week of summer huh????

I guess it could have been worse and happened the first week of school.
